The TSA security checkpoint expansion represents the first major phase of the terminal construction project that will include an updated screening area, a third concourse and several new restaurants and shops for travelers.
The security checkpoint project will increase the current footprint of the screening area, allowing the TSA to increase the number of lanes in that area should the need arise at peak compression points. New screening technology will also be deployed to expedite passenger screening.
Travelers may notice changes in this area due to the new screening technology, the reconfiguration of the exit lanes for passengers flying into JAX from other cities, and the expansion of the queuing area.
