As JAX continues to grow, so does the demand for parking facilities. Passengers should expect the amount of on-airport parking to greatly increase over the next several years. This will be done through several construction projects that include opening a third economy lot, expanding existing parking capabilities and building a third parking garage.

In the interim, travelers are encouraged to check our website, www.flyjax.com, for real-time updates on parking availability. When lots are full, closures will be posted on our website, roadway signage into the terminal and on X. Passengers may also want to seek alternative means of transportation such as a taxi, Uber or Lyft to catch a departing flight.

Here are some of the improvements travelers can expect in the future:

Third Parking Garage: A third parking garage is currently in design. Estimated to begin construction in 2024 and be completed in early 2026, the third garage will be located near the hourly and daily garages. Once completed, this third garage will add 2,000 additional spaces to on-airport parking.

A New Permanent Economy Lot: Economy Lot 3 is traditionally only utilized around year-end holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. A construction project to pave the lot, add lighting and IT infrastructure is currently underway. Once completed, the airport will be able to open the lot year-round. Economy Lot 3 will add 350 spaces for the public, and 810 for employees.

Additional Spaces in Economy Lot 1: Economy Lot 1 currently has the capacity to park over 2,100 vehicles. Plans are underway to add 289 parking spaces to this lot, giving passengers more affordable options for long-term parking. The addition of these spaces is currently slated to be complete by late 2024.

Repurposing Airport Employee Parking for the Public: The current airport employee parking lot, located on the eastside of the airport near baggage claim, will be repurposed to accommodate travelers, adding approximately 500 spaces for a mixture of valet and public parking. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2024.
